Episode 6

Louise’s wedding

Hello Louise,

Thank you for agreeing to tell us about your wedding.

Who are you ? age, profession, city ...

I am a 29 year old bride, I work as a marketing and sales project manager for an Apple and Pear Producers Organization based in Anjou. I've been living in Angers for 5 years and a half but I'm from Normandy above all :) !

What time of year did your wedding take place?

We got married in the middle of June, on June 19th exactly. We chose this date because it was the longest weekend of the year :)

Where ? Why ?

We chose to get married at my parents' home, in the Orne region of Normandy. This place was important first of all because it is traditional to get married on the side of Madam but also because I am the only girl at home surrounded by 3 boys so it was very important to my dad to marry his daughter at home.

How long did you have to organise all the preparations?

We decided to get married in 2019 and had framed the date in late 2019. So a year and a half of preparations.

What was the easiest and the least easy in the preparations?

The most complicated thing is to please everyone when you organize with several people, and to make decisions (in time) without offending anyone. We organized everything with my husband, my parents and my parents-in-law.

Did you have a theme or a color? why this choice?

The theme was classic with a trio of colors: white, fir green, and a touch of raspberry. We love nature so green (the color of hope) was an obvious choice. Since we are getting married on a wooded property, we needed a color that was a little flashier to give us a bit of a kick and contrast with these very natural colors. Raspberry goes very well with my husband's skin tone and fir green, so we opted for this 3rd color.

Was choosing your dress easy? which creator?

Yes, at the fitting I knew it was the one. But before that I had no clear idea of a particular designer or shape. I went to a few stores before I found THE one. I chose a dress from Maison Floret in Paris that I slightly modified (adding a pin to give volume and a small train)

Did you have children of honor?

Which model (s) did you choose?

Cleophée dress with belted petticoat and bow tie barrette Merlin shorts and Aladdin shirt with belt and bow tie + Lavallières for men (My husband, dad, brothers and witnesses)

Did you take a photographer for D-Day? would you recommend it?

Yes, it's Constance Viot Photographie : I highly recommend.

Did you have entrance music for dinner? if yes which one ? why this choice ?

Yes, it was the music "Reverse In The UK - ItaloBrothers." This is music we were listening to a lot when we met in 2013.

Assessment of this unique day?

Best memories ?

Everything was superb: the preparations, the decoration, the mass, the cocktail party, the dinner, the evening!

If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?

Perhaps we would film the religious ceremony to have a living memory of it. We have had a lot of positive and moving feedback from this moment.
