SECTION: THEY TELL US ABOUT IT

Hello Apolline,

Thank you for agreeing to tell us about your wedding.

Who are you? Age, profession, city, etc.

My name is Apolline, I am 28 years old, I am a private banker and I live in Paris.

When did your wedding take place?

Our wedding took place in July 2025.

Where? Why?

Our wedding took place in the Somme region at my husband's family home. We chose this location because it is the property where he grew up. It therefore had great sentimental value.

How long did you have to organise everything?

We got engaged in April 2024, so we had a year and three months to prepare for our wedding.

What was the easiest and most difficult part of the preparations?

The easiest part was everything that concerned me directly, i.e. the wedding dress and the bridesmaids and pageboys. The hardest part was agreeing on all the other details with my family, my in-laws and my husband.

Did you have a theme or colour scheme? Why did you choose it?

We chose purple as our theme/colour because we both love purple and we thought it was original.

Was choosing your dress easy? Which designer?

My choice was very easy because I went with the first design that caught my eye on Instagram. My dress is from Olivier Freine. It's so beautiful!!! I love the back!!!

Did you have any flower girls or page boys? • How many? • How old were they? • Were they girls or boys?

Yes, we had six flower girls and page boys: two girls and four boys. The children were between two and five years old.

Which style(s) did you choose? For my bridesmaids, I chose the Cléophée dress with wave-patterned croquet at the neckline and back, short ruffled sleeves, buttons and a wide mauve belt. For the pageboys, I chose the Peter Pan shirt, mauve Bermuda shorts and a mauve pleated belt.

Did you hire a photographer for the big day? Would you recommend them?

Yes. The photographer was Henri Buffetaud. I chose the same photographer as my sister did three years earlier because the photos were beautiful, and I wasn't disappointed!

Did you have entrance music for the dinner? If so, what was it? Why did you choose it?

Yes! Allumez le feu by Johnny Halliday. We made our entrance into the marquee on motorbikes. It was incredible.

How would you sum up this unique day?

We had a wonderful day, starting with a beautiful ceremony and continuing with a cocktail reception where the sun decided to make an appearance. We continued the evening with our saxophonist Eric, who created an amazing atmosphere. It went by too quickly, but we have some wonderful memories.

Best memories?

Riding into the marquee on a motorbike and returning from the church by car, where we had 30 minutes to ourselves to take it all in and be together.

If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?

I would hire a venue to make things easier. It took us a lot of time and holidays to organise everything at home.
